About this project

What is this?

Spotify playlists of song recommendations from people I know in Bend. That is to say, I know the contributors live or work here. This is just for fun. No money is changing hands, just songs and playlists.

What qualifies?

Song recommendations from people who think their music tastes are interesting. For each playlist, I want contributors to provide one or two songs that you're obsessed with but that are being largely ignored by the world.

Recommendations may be added to the B-Sides playlist or omitted if they don't meet my (quite lax) quality standards.

How to contribute your music obsessions

If you enjoy music that you consider under-appreciated and you can somehow prove you live or work Bend, email me or follow me on Instagram. If you work in retail, let me know where and when I can find you at your place of work. I'll try to stop by, maybe buy something, and get your recommendations for the current playlist.

Email Brian Brian at Instagram

I won't accept recommendations without first verifying that you live or work in this city.

Some playlists have themes?

Yes, some playlist have themes (like "Cascade Mountains" and "Bring Me Down") to theoretically make the resulting song list vaguely coherent. I don't really care how your song matches the theme, though. Maybe the song title matches the theme, maybe the lyrics feel like a match, and maybe the theme reminds you of a song for an unknown reason. It doesn't really matter. The theme is just inspiration.
